Penny End T Hinges
When opened, a tee hinge has the appearance of a letter ‘T’. An alternative to butt hinges, tee hinges are usually used in conjunction with a suffolk latch on traditional plank doors. They can also be used on cupboard doors or kitchen cabinets.
Our blacksmith tee hinges are hammered into shape from mild steel using the traditional manufacturing method of an anvil and fire. Once the mild steel T hinge has been hand forged it is finished in our factory in our available finishes, which includes beeswax, external beeswax, black powder coated or pewter patina. The end result is a strong, beautifully detailed product ideal for any traditional project.
Black Finish - (For Internal or External Use)Our black finish is baked in a high-temperature oven giving it a durable corrosion resistant finish. It is resistant to moisture and can be used in bathrooms and damp conditions. This finish has been salt tested to 480 hours, which meets grade 5 British Standard. Wiping with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time will remove harmful deposits and maintain its original condition.
