There is a number of problems that could arise within the home, including bad odours, strange noises and faulty electrics. Sometimes you’ll have no idea that there is a problem, whilst often you won’t be able to avoid or ignore it.
No matter how well you look after your home, problems will appear over time. The best thing you can do is identify common problems and work out how to fix them.

Flickering Lights
There is nothing more frustrating than a light that is on the blink. If yours is constantly flickering or turning on and off - you shouldn't ignore this or try to put up with it. If it's just one bulb that is acting up, it probably needs tightening or replacing. If all your lights are flickering, then you might have an issue with your circuit or electrical panel.
You can easily tighten or replace a bulb yourself. If you think there is a more serious issue, you should call out a professional straight away. Electrical problems can get nasty quickly - leading to fires.
Poor Ventilation
When people try hard to save energy and money, they often make the mistake of over sealing their home and therefore causing ventilation problems. A build-up of interior moisture can cause rotting in your home and failure in both structural and non structural fundamentals.
When the air inside is too humid, you might start to witness the growth of fungus. This is especially common in places such as lofts and cellars.
You should make sure you have an efficient ventilation system in place, so that you have a flow of fresh air in and out of the building.
Broken Fixtures
A huge problem in many homes is just overall poor maintenance. Whether it's poorly fixed hinges on doors or draw runners that no longer work - these are issues that are frequently found and usually ignored. It's important that you pay attention to faulty or broken fixtures in your house, so that you can get them fixed as soon as possible.
It's usually a case of indentifying the problem and buying the correct equipment to get it fixed up and looking as new as ever!
